DOREMi has a rich history, being established 44 years in 1979. Could you share with us how the company has evolved over the years and what led to its remarkable growth since 2008 after your inception as the CEO?

As the CEO of DOREMi, I am honoured to share the incredible journey of our company’s evolution. From serving clients in Malaysia, we are now serving internationally. We have supported events in Japan, the United States, United Arab Emirates, and more. We have a dedicated warehouse in city centre that houses more than 10,000 event equipment, enabling us to serve our clients’s event much more efficiently.

Moreover, being ISO and OHSAS certified for 10th year is a testament to our commitment to quality and safety. #TeamDOREMi has also grown from 20 staff to 90 staff strong. With more structured training and also dedication of our management and staff, we believe we will be able to serve our client much better in years to come. That is in line with our tagline Event Technology Made Easy!

In a competitive event production management industry, what sets DOREMi apart from other companies? What unique qualities or strategies contribute to your success?

In DOREMi we believe action speaks louder than words, the fact that repeating clients make up more than 70% of our sales is a testament that We DELIVER! We have in-house staff with more than 30 years of experience that are able to guide and train our new staff. Our in-house equipment also means that we are able to do last-minute backups for our client’s events. Our tagline “Event Technology Made Easy” definitely portrays how DOREMi is able to bring innovative technology to meet our client needs.

With over 40 years of experience, we have honed our expertise and become a trusted name in the industry. Our ISO certification ensures the highest standards of quality, while our team of well-trained event technicians, extensive inventory of over 10,000 in-house event equipment, and online catalog make us a one-stop solution provider. We take pride in offering special design LED screens, making every event memorable. Our commitment to technology and prompt customer response within 24 hours further solidifies our position in the industry. Having supported over 45,000 events and receiving numerous outstanding business awards, we are proud to be recognised for our excellence. Besides, we have a dedicated operation unit that is specialised in different types of events making our staff well verse for all types of events.

The pandemic has brought significant challenges to the events industry. How has DOREMi adapted and what innovative projects or improvements have you implemented during this time?

During the pandemic, DOREMi faced significant challenges in the events industry. However, we successfully adapted by pivoting to other industries, which allowed us to retain all our staff during this challenging time. We take pride in this accomplishment. Additionally, we focused on training our staff to enhance their skills and capabilities, enabling them to prepare for the post-pandemic period. By investing in our team’s development, we ensure that we are well equipped to provide exceptional service and meet the evolving needs of our clients in the future. We swiftly transitioned to virtual and hybrid event solutions, leveraging technology to deliver engaging experiences remotely. Most importantly, we make sure all our staff have growth mindset and to have a can do attitude. These adaptations and improvements have allowed us to navigate the ever-changing landscape and continue providing memorable event experiences for our clients.

From your perspective, what is the most crucial aspect of setting up a successful event? Additionally, what specific skills do you believe are essential for an event production manager to possess?

From my perspective, the most crucial aspect of setting up a successful event is the experience of our staff and crew in every aspect of the event. At DOREMi, we take pride in our extensive experience, having supported over 1,600 events in 2022 alone. This track record demonstrates the trust our clients place in our ability to handle their events seamlessly. Money can’t buy the invaluable experiences gained through years of executing diverse events. Additionally, essential skills for an event production manager include excellent organisational abilities, strong communication and problem solving skills, adaptability and attention to detail. These skills ensure smooth coordination, effective communication with clients and vendors, and the ability to overcome challenges that may arise during the event planning and execution process.

DOREMi’s pursuit in pioneering the event industry to obtain The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) Certifications is noteworthy. What specific impact do you envision it having on DOREMi and its overall operations? How do you anticipate this certification will contribute to the company’s goals and objectives?

These certifications demonstrate our commitment to understanding and meeting our clients’ requirements, enabling us to provide exceptional and tailored event experiences. The CMP and CEM certifications we have obtained are a testament to our growth mindset. They will greatly impact DOREMi’s operations by allowing us to innovate and align our event production with our clients’ specific business needs. From meeting their conference and exhibition needs, we have proven that our team of experts have the knowledge and experience in understanding our client nature of business and these certificates are proof of that. Overall, they contribute to our goal of delivering outstanding service and building strong client relationships.

As the CEO of DOREMi, we are actively exploring partnerships and collaborations to bring innovative event technologies and solutions to our clients. By collaborating with industry experts and staying informed about the latest advancements, we aim to offer cutting-edge event experiences and ensure our clients have access to the most up-to-date technologies available in the market.

With our new mobile LED truck, the client now can reach their target market more efficiently. This approach allows us to continuously enhance our service offerings and provide exceptional experiences for our clients. On a personal level, my goal for the future is to continue driving DOREMi’s growth and success while maintaining our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. I aspire to lead DOREMi to become a globally recognised event equipment rental and service supplier, providing exceptional experiences and setting new industry standards.
