With the recent acquisition of the d&b KSL system, what inspired this bold move and how does it enhance the emotional and experiential quality of the events you deliver?
The decision to invest in the d&b KSL system was inspired by our commitment to stay ahead of industry trends and deliver experiences that truly move people. We wanted to go beyond just providing “sound” and instead create emotional resonance, where every note, word, or effect connects with the audience at a deeper level. The KSL system allows us to achieve this with unmatched clarity, even coverage, and controlled dispersion. This ensures that every guest, whether in the front row or at the back of a large venue, experiences the same impactful sound. By bridging technology and human emotion, we elevate events into unforgettable moments that linger long after the lights dim.
This award is presented under Business Catalyst Excellence. In your view, how is DOREMi acting as a catalyst for transformation within Malaysia’s business events ecosystem?
We act as a catalyst by pushing the boundaries of what events can achieve. By introducing world-class technology and integrating it with creative execution, we empower organizers to deliver events that leave a lasting mark. Beyond equipment, we share knowledge, train talents, and collaborate with stakeholders to uplift industry standards. Our goal is to transform events from being just gatherings into platforms of influence, inspiration, and innovation.
Every innovation comes with hurdles. What were some of the key challenges DOREMi faced in developing or implementing this technology, and how did your team overcome them?
Innovations like LED architecture and AI-powered unveiling naturally came with challenges. For the Expo 2025 Osaka launch, integrating large-scale LED structures into a functional event space required precise planning to balance design, safety, and environmental efficiency. Meanwhile, at The Music Run 2024, introducing artificial intelligence (AI) as an unveiling gimmick demanded technical synchronization with holograms, visuals, and narrations all while ensuring cultural and thematic relevance for the audience.
We overcame these hurdles through rigorous testing, close collaboration between our technical and creative teams, and a willingness to experiment beyond the comfort zone of standard practices. The payoff was worth it, at The Music Run, the AI unveiling created a futuristic “wow factor” that participants still talk about today.
As you celebrate this milestone, what’s next for DOREMi? Are there upcoming projects, collaborations, or innovations that the industry should look forward to?
Looking ahead, we are committed to further investing in sustainable event technologies and expanding our partnerships to bring global best practices into Malaysia. We are exploring innovations in hybrid and immersive event formats, where physical and digital experiences seamlessly blend.
