PATA Travel Mart 2026 (PTM 2026) will bring together the global travel and tourism industry in Kuching, Sarawak, from 18–20 August 2026 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), marking the first time the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s flagship travel trade exhibition is hosted in the Malaysian state.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, hosted by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), and supported by Business Events Sarawak, the event forms part of the momentum surrounding Visit Malaysia 2026 while also celebrating PATA’s 75th Anniversary and Sarawak Tourism Board’s 45th year as a PATA member.

PATA Travel Mart 2026 will bring together tourism boards, convention bureaus, airlines, hotels, travel suppliers, destination management companies, technology providers and international buyers from across Asia Pacific and beyond, facilitating thousands of pre-scheduled business appointments and creating new opportunities for partnerships, investment, market expansion and destination promotion. The three-day event is expected to welcome delegates from more than 60 destinations worldwide, reinforcing its position as one of the Asia Pacific region’s premier B2B travel trade events.

Highlights from PATA Travel Mart 2025

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), and Business Events Sarawak for recognising the strategic importance of the tourism economy and for their commitment to hosting PATA Travel Mart 2026. As a long-standing and valued member, STB has consistently supported a wide range of collaborative initiatives over the years. PTM 2026 will not only align with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and PATA’s 75th Anniversary, but also mark STB’s 45th year of membership with the Association, making it a truly special occasion for Sarawak, PATA, and all participants. We look forward to welcoming our community and stakeholders to Sarawak and showcasing the destination’s remarkable strengths in both business and leisure - and highlight how there is always ‘More to Discover’ in Sarawak.

Beyond its extensive programme of business appointments, PTM 2026 will feature a comprehensive line-up of knowledge-sharing sessions, networking events and industry discussions designed to encourage collaboration and innovation across the tourism sector.

Proceedings begin on 17 August with the PATA Youth Symposium 2026, bringing together future tourism leaders, alongside delegate registration and networking activities.

On 18 August, delegates will gather at the PTM Knowledge Forum 2026, themed “The Next Era: Impactful Partnerships, Purposeful Growth.” The forum will explore the evolving tourism landscape through keynote presentations, executive discussions and case studies covering tourism resilience, sustainability, AI, digital commerce, destination innovation, market intelligence, community-based tourism, destination stewardship and regional collaboration.

Highlights of the forum include the launch of the PATA & CWP Digital Series: Pacific Asia: Tourism with Purpose, alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Top25 and the Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF), reinforcing industry collaboration across the region.

Hosting PATA Travel Mart 2026 is a milestone for Sarawak and a testament to our growing presence on the global tourism stage. It is our opportunity to present Sarawak’s cultural heritage, biodiversity, and business-ready infrastructure to the world, while underscoring our commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism. This event complements Visit Malaysia 2026 and will strengthen our ties with international industry leaders, creating lasting partnerships that benefit our communities and tourism stakeholders. We look forward to welcoming the world to Sarawak, where there is always ‘More to Discover’

The official PATA Travel Mart 2026 Opening Ceremony takes place on 19 August, followed by a VIP tour of the exhibition, a media briefing and an extensive schedule of pre-matched business appointments connecting international buyers with tourism sellers from across the region. The day’s programme concludes with the Soul of Borneo Gala Evening, hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak.

Business appointments continue throughout 20 August, complemented by trade visitor access and networking opportunities at BCCK, before delegates are invited to experience Sarawak firsthand through curated Destination Experiences on 21 August, hosted by the Sarawak Tourism Board.

PTM 2026 also builds upon the long-standing partnership between PATA and the Sarawak Tourism Board. Since becoming a PATA member in 1981, STB has worked closely with the Association on destination resilience, sustainable tourism development, carbon reduction initiatives, biodiversity conservation, policy advocacy and capacity-building programmes, reinforcing Sarawak’s commitment to responsible and regenerative tourism.

As Sarawak prepares to welcome tourism professionals from around the world, PATA Travel Mart 2026 is expected to further strengthen the state’s position as one of Asia Pacific’s leading destinations for both leisure tourism and business events while supporting the objectives of Visit Malaysia 2026 through stronger international partnerships, destination promotion and regional tourism growth.
