At the helm of the Italian affair, Chef de Cuisine Muhamad Afiq blends modern Italian flavours with Malaysian sensibility. A former Sous Chef at Prego Restaurant at Westin Kuala Lumpur, Chef Afiq crafts each dish with care, incorporating locally grown produce with a respect for traditional recipes. “Italy and Malaysia share a lot of similarities,” says Chef Afiq. “In terms of culture and cuisine, they both have a huge appetite for food and flavour – but also the desire to share that passion with the ones they love. I want every diner to feel that same excitement and comfort every time they sit down at Tosca.”
The interior evokes the rustic flairs of old Italian restaurants while adhering to contemporary designs, reflecting the chef’s approach to the meals served. The walls are adorned with beautiful carved wooden vases adding to the sense of refinement and deeper into the establishment, the wall-length lookout treats patrons to a view of i-City itself, turning dinner into a light show.
