Question 1:
- Any plans for South America Corporate travelers?
- Are there any additional incentive scheme offered by PCEB to pitch for new events in penang domestically and internationally (2021)?
- It is indeed good to see that every industry player in Penang is ‘Repairing’ as well as ‘Reinforcing’ what need to be done during this period of time. With these initiatives taken, is there additional plan/scheme attracting more Meeting & Incentives groups to be back to Penang in 2021 onward where we could share with?
Question 2:
- What has been planned to push Penang through this challenging time?
- How would Penang handle domestic travelers and also would there be a campaign to promote accordingly like Vietnam, Thailand?
- Agree that we are all in uncharted waters, between public health and economy health, it is not an easy decision that government and ministries have to make. Now moving forward, what are plans that stat boards in Penang planning to do to:
- let the world know that we are a safe destination and actions on what we doing to maintain the green zone status.
- What is PCEB and PGT’s immediate plans to spur the market for events within 3-6 months-time.
Question 3:
We know the issues and no more need to talk about it, but what are we planning to do effectively to assure the State tourism revival?
- Would state and pceb – be supportive to joint bid with local dmc for big events similar to what neighbouring countries tourism board are doing to support the industry e.g. Singapore/Thailand?
- What is your immediate marketing activities once MCO is lifted or foreign borders are opened?
Question 5:
Knowing that Penang has the advantage of accessibility by land, what are the states plan to encourage this, while also putting the new health and safety measures in mind to lure local Malaysian to visit us?
Question 6:
Focus international market after pandemic is too late …. we hope Penang as a green zone,BE people are very creative and pro-active, government should take a LEAD to work out G to G corporation with green country like china, Vietnam, Thailand’, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos and not over focus on domestic.

Who are the members of the task force and representatives of the stakeholders?
Answer:
The Business Events Penang Task Force comprises of industry players from the hotels, convention centres & venues, unique venues, Professional Conference Organisers (PCO), Event Suppliers, Destination Management Companies (DMC) & Transportation.
Question 8:
Would the government would be able to provide an incentive to business owners to embrace technology as well as to provide skilled manpower to be introduced to the industry?
