The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has formalised a significant strategic partnership with Marriott International Malaysia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration marks a major step in strengthening industry cooperation and advancing Malaysia’s positioning in the global Business Events arena.
The MoU exchange ceremony, held at the Marriott Hotel, was witnessed by YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), and YB Dr. Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu, Chairman of MyCEB.
This partnership aligns MyCEB’s mission to drive high-impact Business Events with Marriott’s global hospitality network and international service standards. Together, both organisations aim to reinforce Malaysia’s identity as a premier destination for global conferences, incentives, exhibitions, meetings, and major international sporting events.
Driving Malaysia’s Global Business Events Vision
The collaboration supports MyCEB’s 2026 strategic plan, “BE Malaysia Go Global: Unlocking New Markets”, which focuses on enhancing Malaysia’s international reach while attracting high-value Business Events. The initiative targets both established and emerging markets, including MENA, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and fast-growing regions across Southeast Asia.
As of 21 November 2025, MyCEB has successfully contributed an Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) of RM4.08 billion generated by international participants, a testament to global confidence, robust partnerships, and the strength of Malaysia’s Business Events ecosystem.
