With the meaning of “awesome” in recognition of the wonderful space that awaits visitors there, Some Sevit is the world’s first floating cultural space that was built on the Han River at the southern end of the Banpo Bridge in 2011. Opened to the public in 2014, the cultural complex comprises of three man-made floating islands connected with overpasses that embody the process by which a seed ‘Some Solvit’ turns into a flower bud ‘Some Chavit’ and transforms into a flower in full bloom ‘Some Gavit’, and a media gallery named “Some Yevit”.
Around the floating islands are colourful 281 LED panels that create an amazing night view under the theme of “a gleaming light in the mist”. With the stunning view of the Han River, Some Sevit showcases comprehensive multi-functional cultural spaces and facilities for various exhibitions, international conferences, performances and wedding, with a convention center, an entertainment hall, restaurants, a marina and shops. In addition, the large LED screen and water stage will provide a wide variety of different performances and events on the banks of the Han River.
You can see breathtaking views of the serene Han River and Seoul’s skyline during the day and the three floating islands even glow up constantly changing colours at night. The clusters of three glowing “floating islands” are actually registered ships, and they come into full glory as the colourfully aglow Floating Island Convention in the night, which located within the distinctive southern Seoul multi-island complex of Sebitsome on the isle of Some Gavit.
Floating Island Convention (FIC) is the world’s largest artificial floating island that strikingly elegant with its spring 13m-high ceiling and equipped with the advanced technology including a 18m wide screen with thousand six hundred Ansi resolution at the front of the hall and a car elevator for motor shows.
The spacious white dome-shaped hall can accommodates up to 550 people, which is host to international conferences, weddings, conferences, marketing events and cultural performances. At the end of the event, the electric curtain can be opened up for the sweeping views of the Han River behind the stage.
Villa De Noche, a medieval-style European restaurant with private balcony, which is ideal for social events, small tea parties or having a glass of champagne before and after the event. Along the beautiful scenery of Han River, the lounge can accommodate up to 150 people for a sit-down dinner and about 250 for a stand-up party.
Terrace Room, a stylish room with a private balcony that ideal for a seminar, private dinner or cocktail party in balcony, which can houses about 20 to 30 people.
Rive Gauche, an elegant hall with an exclusive elevator and lobby, which can accommodate up to 150 people. The hall is ideal for a private business party for small wedding or 1st birthday party and also business meetings. For events that more than 1,000 people, the lobby door can be wide opened to make the hall more spacious.
Vista serves brunch during the daytime and transforms into a casual dining in the evening with a menu of a la carte, Table d’hote and daily chef’s special that prepared by talented chefs. It is a cosy space with a capacity less than 300 people for unwinding and holding business parties, together with the cool breeze outside, a stunning view when the romantic sunset transforms the sky into the beautiful works of art and the amazing night view.
Terrace on the Bay, located on the 4th floor of Gavit, is a perfect space for unwinding and holding corporate events, cocktail parties or firework functions with the cool breeze outside the amazing day or night views of Han River. The beautiful sunset also creates the perfect ambiance for your special event!
Rooftop Garden, located on the 5th floor, offering a magnificent panoramic view stretching from Mountain Namsan to Yeouido. It is an exclusive place with the balcony that boats a truly exotic setting with a splendid view for a garden wedding or any special events.
