I-Berhad, the esteemed developer behind Malaysia’s No. 1 Technology City in Shah Alam, i-City, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the world’s largest hotel chain, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, for the development of luxury condominiums in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM820 million.
As a result of this collaboration, the iconic 50-storey luxury residences situated in Zone 1 of KLCC will bear the distinguished name, “Wyndham Suites KLCC.”
This alliance signifies not only the embodiment of luxury living at its zenith but also the privilege of possessing a piece of the prestigious Wyndham legacy—a legacy synonymous with 5-star hospitality and exceptional guest services, which resonates profoundly with property investors.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, led by Asia Pacific President, Mr. Ooi Joon Aun, is renowned for its “Count on Me” service culture and 5-star hospitality, boasting a global portfolio comprising approximately 9,100 hotels across more than 95 countries worldwide, assuring world-class comfort for its discerning guests. The globally acclaimed Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, with over 103 million members, stands as the world’s most generous loyalty program, providing access to a diverse global clientele.
On the occasion of formalizing this partnership, I-Berhad’s Chairman, Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong, stated, “This marks a significant leap forward for I-Berhad, and we are elated to join hands with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in the transformation of Wyndham Suites KLCC. Not only will this enhance the Group’s overall brand reputation and visibility, but Wyndham’s expansive global network will also serve as a powerful platform for our RM10 billion GDV project in i-City Shah Alam, providing it with greater international exposure.”
Tan Sri Lim further elaborated that Wyndham Suites KLCC will captivate families, business travelers, and vacationers from around the world through the Wyndham Rewards ecosystem. He mentioned, “Between November this year and January next year, i-City is driving the ‘One Shah Alam, One Destination’ program, aimed at providing visitors with a comprehensive experience of Shah Alam within one unified destination. The program will focus on enhanced lightscapes, immersive edutainment experiences, and community engagement events. The group has invested RM10 million in lightscape and immersive edutainment enhancements, including a 5D Immersive Winterland and a 50,000 sqft indoor digital sports arena.”
“The influx of visitors to Wyndham Suites KLCC can naturally extend to i-City in Shah Alam, just a 30-minute drive away, through cross-promotional activities. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the tourism sectors of both Kuala Lumpur and Selangor,” Lim emphasised.
He further highlighted that this partnership will enhance the prestige and allure of i-City’s developments, augmenting property values and attracting a more affluent and diverse clientele to the area. Moreover, it aligns seamlessly with i-City’s overarching vision of creating a destination-oriented ecosystem, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to relish luxury living while remaining seamlessly connected to i-City’s tech-centric hub in Shah Alam. This symbiotic relationship fosters the growth and vitality of both locales, creating a dynamic urban experience that spans across various domains and draws in more businesses, residents, and visitors to i-City in Shah Alam.
In an unrelated event, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently visited i-City and was greeted with an enthusiastic welcome by i-City’s employees representing diverse backgrounds. Their warm reception embodies the spirit of “Malaysia Madani,” symbolising not only i-City’s commitment to creating an inclusive destination rich in diversity but also showcasing Malaysia’s strength through unity and its affiliation with the “One Shah Alam, One Destination” program.
