This Chinese New Year, KL International Airport (KLIA) welcomes passengers with the largest hand-carved dragon sculpture in Malaysia, recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Biggest Golden Dragon. As part of the airport’s vibrant annual festive celebration, the Golden Dragon aims to create an engaging and joyful experience for passengers and visitors. The sculpture, standing at an impressive 12 feet in height and 25 feet in length, is the centrepiece of the ‘Celestial Splendour’ Chinese New Year celebration at KLIA Terminal 1, transforming it into an auspicious haven from today until 24 February 2024. Symbolising power, tradition, and imperial grandeur, the magnificent dragon, meticulously hand-carved by a skilled artist and adorned in dazzling gold, is accompanied by a majestic dragon throne centrepiece. This ensemble offers visitors to KLIA an experience akin to a journey back to the opulence of ‘Old China.’
