AirAsia is dedicated to facilitating the joyous reunions of Malaysians with their families during the festive season, particularly Hari Raya. The airline introduces a special initiative with over 22,000 fixed-rate seats for late-night flights connecting Peninsular Malaysia with East Malaysia.
From April 5 to April 17, 2024, travellers can book one-way flights at set prices, including Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, or Miri, and Johor Bahru to Kuching, Sibu, or Miri at a promotional fare of RM298. Flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, or Tawau, and from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu are available at a special price of RM348 one-way.
These promotional rates are accessible for booking until April 17, 2024, through the AirAsia website and the AirAsia MOVE app. The airline offers 122 late-night flights on 11 routes between the Peninsula and East Malaysia at fixed rates, alongside 735 regular flights each week to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, providing more travel options during the festive season.
Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke, expressed support for AirAsia’s Fixed Fares initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to affordable air travel for Malaysians during the festive season. The recent announcement of a maximum fare of RM599 for one-way economy class flights to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan further demonstrates this commitment.
Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam, highlighted the airline’s commitment to reuniting families and loved ones during Hari Raya. The fixed fares initiative not only makes travel affordable but also aligns with the government’s festive season fare initiative. The airline’s goal is to facilitate thousands of guests flying back to their hometowns affordably and safely during this special time.
To enhance the travel experience, AirAsia recommends using the AirAsia MOVE app for self-check-in up to 14 days before the flight’s departure date and utilising the e-Boarding Pass for boarding. Travellers are advised to arrive at least two hours before the scheduled departure for a smooth journey during the busy festive season.
