The Spice Brasserie buzzed with excitement as the newly opened PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort celebrated its first Mother’s Day event on Sunday, 12 May 2024.
Around 120 diners, including mothers with their families, enjoyed a sumptuous buffet lunch specially crafted by Executive Chef Joseph Kuan and his talented culinary team. General Manager Anthony Quin and heads of departments warmly welcomed the guests.
The buffet, served from 12 noon to 3.00 pm, was priced at RM78 nett per adult and RM45 nett per child (ages 6-12) and senior citizens (60+). Mothers dined for free with every three paying adults.
Guests savoured an array of delectable dishes, including Homemade Pizzas, Deep-fried Vegetable Spring Rolls, Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet, Gulai Ayam Utara, Stir-fried Beef with Onion, Butter Prawns, Fried Yee Mee with Seafood, Roasted Stuffed Rolled Rosemary Chicken, Braised Black Mushroom & Broccoli, and Assorted Sandwiches. Highlights included Chicken Rice, Roasted Duck Chinese Style, Mee Rebus, Curry Laksa, and Steamed Jonker Street Dim Sum. The signature Cream of Mushroom Soup, accompanied by freshly baked butter rolls, was a crowd favourite.
At the sweet temptation corner, moms and their kids indulged in Ice Kacang, Assorted French Pastries, Chocolate Swiss Rolls, Chocolate Eclairs, and Bubur Pulut Hitam. Pastry Chef Selfian baked whole cakes with special decorations just for the mothers.
The Spice Brasserie was filled with laughter and joy as mothers and children participated in several activities organized by the resort. Highlights included the ‘Best Dressed Mom’ contest, ‘Little Love Notes’ to Mom competition, and a chance to win attractive Lucky Draw prizes sponsored by Puan Masdura of Req’s Decoupage Craft. Prizes included exclusive tiffin carriers, handbags, tissue holders, and hand-painted crockeries.
The Grand Lucky Draw Prize was a 2 Days/1 Night stay in a Superior Room with breakfast for two. Mothers were also treated to free henna hand painting, graciously sponsored by Req’s Decoupage Craft.
The event featured the talented 11-year-old Dhia Sasabila, who delighted attendees with her cartoon drawings. Many kids participated in the ‘Little Love Note to Mom’ competition, and fathers had the opportunity to purchase special handmade gifts for moms.
The celebration concluded with door gifts for all mothers, including a ½ kg cake, and goody bags for the kids, sponsored by Mamee Double Decker.
