Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown has officially received halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, or Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), reaffirming the hotel’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of halal compliance in its food and beverage preparation and service. The certification covers the hotel’s culinary operations across its banquet facilities and Midtown Brasserie kitchen.
At Hyatt, we take great pride in the food we serve, and it is essential that we adhere to the regulations and standards required of a halal-certified kitchen. With this certification, our Muslim guests can dine with confidence and peace of mind, knowing that all food and beverage offerings covered under the halal certification are prepared in full compliance with halal standards. ~ Till Martin, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown
“Our team has worked very closely with JAKIM over the past several months, undergoing rigorous on-site inspections, detailed assessments and evaluations to ensure full halal compliance,” he said. “Achieving this certification is especially significant as we strengthen our partnership with Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), positioning the hotel as a preferred hospitality partner for international conventions and large-scale events.”
To ensure strict adherence to halal standards, the hotel has formed a dedicated Halal Committee comprising of chefs from each kitchen as well as representatives from procurement, food and beverage operations, hygiene and stewarding, supported by a specialised halal compliance team that oversees implementation, monitoring and compliance across all dining and banqueting facilities.
