The programme highlighted the critical role of associations in shaping Malaysia’s Business Events landscape. Beyond organising events, associations serve as key enablers of knowledge exchange, professional development, and international collaboration, while playing a pivotal role in attracting global conferences and conventions to Malaysia.

Co-organised with the Malaysia Society of Association Executives (MSAE), the full-day programme featured panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions focused on governance practices, leadership strategies, and approaches to enhancing the impact and sustainability of associations in an evolving global environment.

In 2026, associations must redefine their relevance by moving beyond growth and focusing on why they matter. Member expectations have shifted toward clear outcomes, measurable value and strategic partnership, marking a “Great Association Reset” where trust, agility and impact are essential. MyCEB Association 2026, a collaboration between MSAE and MyCEB, reinforces the role of associations as drivers of transformation, policy influence, and industry advancement. Key priorities include strengthening national integration through East Malaysia engagement, elevating professional standards via enhanced certification, and preparing leaders for digital transformation, sustainability and talent development. The core message is a shift from output to outcome-driven leadership, where associations must collaborate more deeply to remain relevant and impactful in an increasingly complex global environment.
