The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has marked another significant milestone in its sustainability journey with the achievement of the GreenRE Bronze Certification, presented during the International Sustainability Week (ISW) Dinner held at MITEC.
The certification was presented by The Honourable Tuan Syed Ibrahim bin Syed Noh, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, to Datuk Azlan Shah Jaffril, Chairman of the Malaysia External Trade Centre (METCO), in the presence of Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, Chairman of GreenRE and Co-Chair of ISW 2026; Datuk Syed Faizal Shah, Director of METCO; and Mala Dorasamy, CEO of MITEC.
The GreenRE certification forms part of MITEC’s broader commitment to embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into its business and operations, while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its sustainability initiatives and partnerships. As a tangible milestone in this ongoing journey, the certification reinforces MITEC’s commitment to strengthening existing practices, measuring progress and continuously improving the way it operates and delivers business events.
As Malaysia’s leading international trade and exhibition venue, MITEC recognises that sustainability is increasingly becoming an integral part of the global business events industry.
