“The Jewel of Kedah”, Langkawi welcomed 60 participants from Forward Realty Sdn. Bhd., one of the leading real estate agencies in Malaysia, for its incentive trip between 8 – 10 November 2021. This is the first incentive group supported under Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s Meet in Malaysia Campaign after the interstate travel restrictions were lifted.
Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, Forward Realty Sdn. Bhd. organised incentive trips to incentivize and reward its top achievers annually. For the past few years, the company incentive trips destinations have always been overseas. This year, the Forward Realty initially wished to suspend the incentive trip due to the uncertainties caused by the pandemic and continuous international border closure. However, with the support from the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), they are convinced to switch the incentive destination from Bali to Langkawi. Even though the group size is small, it is still significant to build confidence to the market.
“I am very proud to herein acknowledge the contributions, support and efforts given by our very own Malaysian’s real estate agency, Forward Realty together with Explorer Tourism Network Sdn Bhd who have decided to support our local economy by organising this trip to Langkawi. This certainly helps Malaysia’s economy in many areas; not just in the tourism business industry but as well as helping out the Malaysian communities as a whole,” said Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.
“Since the announcement of the reopening of business events on 18 October, MyCEB has been receiving overwhelming inquiries and support applications through our Meet in Malaysia campaign. We are pleased to see some corporates slowly regained the confidence to organise physical events once again. We look forward to more Business Events being held domestically and the industry can slowly regain the momentum,” he added.
The Meet in Malaysia campaign encompasses of three initiatives, which is “Let’s Meet Locally” and “Let’s Meet Tomorrow” and the recently launched “Let’s Meet Now”. The main objective of this campaign is to encourage the industry players to plan for future business events in Malaysia in a sustainable, responsible, and profitable manner. Thus far, MyCEB have recorded an encouraging response from the industry with 103 participating partners and 58 approved events under the campaign, bringing in around 56,000 delegates and generating some RM376 million in estimated economic impact.

The group chartered a round-trip flight with Firefly, depart from Subang Airport to Langkawi Island, staying in the 5-star luxury resort, St. Regis Langkawi. The activities range from visits to popular tourist spots, sunset cruise dinner on the Andaman Sea, island hopping to three unique islands, as well as duty-free shopping, all planned by Explorer Tourism Network Sdn Bhd (Travel Agency) and strongly supported by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia.
