The Engineering and Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation (ACMV & R) industries in Malaysia will come together to showcase the future of engineering for four days from 16 to 19 March 2022 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The features will be focusing on the latest solutions and technologies in sustainability, renewable energy, air quality and more towards progressing the nation’s engineering, ACMV and R industry as well as reigniting economic activity.
Congregating to forge collaborations and leverage on partnerships in the First Malaysia Engineering Exhibition and Conference 2022 (ENGINEER) and its concurrent exhibition, the First Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation Expo 2022 (MARVEX), both flagship events are expected to draw industry professionals, trade visitors, specifiers and buyers to converge at the exhibition for the first time and experience 116 hours of business opportunities; 62 hours of learning through 88 local and international speakers across four IEM symposiums, 27 business and industry power talks; and three industry networking sessions and awards night.
ENGINEER is jointly organised by IEM and C.I.S and is held under the umbrella of IEM Convention, where the concurrent exhibition named MARVEX is jointly organised by MACRA and C.I.S. The ENGINEER and MARVEX will provide visitors sources of new technology, and updates on the changes in regulations and best practices in the industry.
As the industry’s needs are being driven towards creating sustainability in built and construction, and transitioning into endemicity; initiatives from the COP 26 summit and advancement of research in Covid-19 virology will inspire design and innovation in technology. Aiming to uplift the industry and connect the trade in building connections from strength to strength, both exhibitions is set to inspire with new solutions and will offer a great opportunity to source the latest in mechanical, electrical and electronics, ACMV and R products as well as solutions.
During which, the robustness of the exhibitions will also fuel the growth trajectory in the construction, infrastructure and built industry post-pandemic as both the engineering and ACMV and R industries play a vital role in the nation’s construction, infrastructure and built sector. These are instrumental proponents in thrusting the nation’s economy forward as opportunities emerge from the reopening of global markets and resumption of mobility in a new normal.
With Malaysia’s economy projected to grow by 6% to 7% this year, RM25.3bil has been allocated for construction works. The construction sub-sector is expected to expand by 11.5% this year, contributing to job opportunities and wealth creation for the people. As construction intensifies, the build environment’s requirements for ACMV and R services are expected to grow and is estimated to reach RM76.7bil by 2025.

Drawing on the strengths of the joint organisers, the exhibitions are built by the industry for the industry, in a shared goal of driving the industry forward as a whole.
The health and safety of everyone visiting the exhibition remains a priority. As such, only fully vaccinated individuals will be admitted to the exhibition with strict health and safety standard operating procedures and guidelines adhered to. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is the first certified SafeBE (Business Events) venue and is equipped with a ventilation system that runs six cycles of complete fresh air exchange every hour with HEPA filters.
