As sustainability continues reshaping the future of global hospitality and tourism, Resorts World Genting (RWG) has taken another meaningful step forward with the introduction of its first-ever DENZA D9 Premium electric vehicle (EV) shuttle service, reinforcing the integrated resort’s broader commitment towards greener mobility and environmentally responsible hospitality operations.
Officially launched during a handover ceremony held at Awana Village on 20 May 2026, the initiative marks RWG as the first integrated resort in the industry to introduce the DENZA D9 Premium as part of its transportation service operations.
More than simply introducing a new fleet of vehicles, the initiative reflects a wider transformation currently taking place across the hospitality and business events landscape, where sustainability is no longer viewed as an optional enhancement, but an increasingly important operational and guest experience consideration.
The newly introduced DENZA D9 Premium electric vehicles will serve guests travelling between Genting Grand and Crockfords, offering what RWG describes as a more comfortable, premium, and environmentally friendly transportation experience within the resort.
Speaking during the ceremony, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations of Resorts World Genting, described the initiative as part of RWG’s longer-term sustainability vision.
The DENZA D9 Premium combines both innovation and comfort, offering guests a quieter and smoother ride experience while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions within the resort. We are proud to be among the first in the industry to introduce this model as part of our transport service operations.
The integration of EV transportation into resort operations also reflects growing industry awareness surrounding carbon reduction, sustainable mobility, and environmentally conscious visitor experiences, particularly within large-scale hospitality destinations and integrated resorts.
Beyond its environmental benefits, the DENZA D9 Premium also introduces a more refined transportation experience for guests. Powered by BYD’s Blade Battery technology, the fully electric luxury MPV offers a quieter and smoother ride while featuring spacious three-row seating, premium NAPPA leather interiors, and enhanced passenger comfort.
According to Spencer Lee, the initiative is not only operationally important, but also symbolic of how premium hospitality and sustainability can coexist within modern resort experiences.
The collaboration between Resorts World Genting, DENZA Sime Motors and BYD Sime Motors also highlights the growing role of cross-industry partnerships in accelerating sustainable transformation within tourism and hospitality sectors.
Bea Kwang Tat, Head of Retail at DENZA Sime Motors, noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment towards innovation, comfort, and long-term sustainability.
The EV shuttle initiative also complements RWG’s wider sustainability and eco-tourism efforts across the resort. Beyond green mobility initiatives, RWG has continued introducing environmentally conscious attractions and experiences such as Eufloria, a nature-inspired floral and sculpture garden promoting biodiversity appreciation, as well as Genting Nature Adventures, which encourages guests to explore the surrounding rainforest ecosystem through immersive outdoor experiences.
As sustainability increasingly becomes a defining pillar across global hospitality, tourism, and business events industries, initiatives such as RWG’s EV shuttle service demonstrate how integrated resorts are beginning to align operational innovation with evolving environmental expectations and guest preferences.
The introduction of the DENZA D9 EV shuttle service may represent a transportation upgrade on the surface, but more importantly, it signals a broader industry shift towards future-ready hospitality models where sustainability, comfort, technology, and guest experience are becoming increasingly interconnected.
