In line with the spirit of Malaysia Day, Nilai Springs Resort Hotel is sparing a thought for the 89 unfortunate children from three different Charity Homes. A range of fun-filled activities with delicious food were prepared for the children, giving them a memorable and wonderful Malaysia Day.
The hotel, in fostering the spirit of goodwill invited 33 children from Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Miskin Daerah Kuala Langat, 28 children from Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Victory Malaysia and 28 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak – Kanak Yatim Dan Miskin Wawasan Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan to be part of the Malaysia Day event. The event was organised as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility towards the underprivileged.
Over the years, Nilai Springs embarks on its philosophy of ‘We care, we share’ that epitomise the values of the hotel which includes giving back to the community by hosting charity events during national festivities where underprivileged children from all walks of life will be invited. This year, we have made a meaningful and memorable Malaysia Day by inviting our fellow underprivileged Malaysians for a lovely lunch treat and a fun-filled day.
The highlight of the day was the distribution of the mock-up cheque of RM10,000.00 respectively for each Charity Homes. A total of RM30,000.00 which derived from the fundraising campaign is used for this worthy community project for the underprivileged ones. The fundraising campaign was carried out by organizing various activities such as selling of used oils, old newspapers, selling chips to guests, organizing flea markets and generous donation from members of the community. During the month of Ramadan in particular, we managed to collect substantial donation from patrons where they were most generous during this holy month.
“In order for us to deliver such good deeds, I would like to acknowledge our patrons, management and staffs who shared our values and it is truly 1-Malaysia to be involved in raising the funds for this benevolent event. Malaysian generosity knows no bounds for it can be called to be in aid when the need arises.” Said Mr GK How, General Manager of Nilai Springs Resort Hotel.
Speaking to media during the lunch retreat hosted for the Charity Homes and Medias recently, GK How said, “Nilai Springs always treated its philanthropic role seriously and we never failed to remember the underprivileged including the orphans, and the corporate social responsibility was definitely part of its various programs since its first inception in 2009.”
“We are always mindful of our Corporate Social Responsibility and this fundraising campaign is one of the ways we can show our support to the less fortunate”, said GK How. “This event also acts as a platform for the hotel to get together with the members of press and media as our gesture of appreciation and thankful for all the continuous support rendered and we would like to share the spirit of joy and happiness with the less fortunate members of the society”, added How.
Our next media gathering will be in 2020 for similar Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
