The Shangri-La Group’s seven hotels in Malaysia are going the extra mile to provide staycation guests with added confidence now that intrastate tourism has resumed for states that have transitioned to phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan.
As part of the Shangri-La Cares commitment, one of the Group’s key priorities is a fully vaccinated guest-facing workforce. When guests next visit a Shangri-La hotel in Malaysia, they can travel with greater confidence, knowing that a fully vaccinated guest-facing team will be taking care of their needs1.
In addition, should the unexpected happen during one’s staycation, guests and their loved ones staying at the Group’s seven hotels in Malaysia can enjoy personal accident coverage at no additional charge from 22 September 2021.
The StaySurance Personal Accident Cover provides guests with end-to-end personal accident protection that starts even before they check into their hotel. Underwritten by AIG, guests will be covered from 06:00hrs or upon check-in, whichever is earlier, on their day of arrival until 18:00hrs or upon check-out, whichever is later, on the day they are scheduled to check out of the hotel. Registered guests will be covered for any unexpected mishaps even when they are outside the hotel, enjoying local attractions and activities.
One of the key benefits of StaySurance is the daily hospital cash benefit of up to USD 100 per day should the insured guest be hospitalised due to having contracted infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, while on staycation.
The promise of a fully vaccinated guest-facing workforce coupled with the introduction of the StaySurance Personal Accident Cover at no additional charge to guests demonstrates the Group’s commitment to helping guests enjoy their domestic holidays to the fullest during these extraordinary times.
Mr. Chan Kong Leong, Regional CEO for the Shangri-La Group in Southeast Asia & Australasia, said: “We are heartened to note that 80 percent of the adult population in Malaysia have been fully vaccinated and the various states are making headway under the National Recovery Plan. We anticipate more residents to indulge in staycations again in the days ahead and we want to further demonstrate our Shangri-La Cares commitment to our local guests and thank them for their continued support. Besides elevated cleaning and hygiene protocols and a fully vaccinated guest-facing workforce, the StaySurance Personal Accident Cover enables us to support our guests in their time of need, should the unexpected happen during their staycation.”
Underwritten by AIG, highlights of the StaySurance coverage2 include daily hospital cash benefit of up to USD 100 per day in the event if the registered guest is hospitalised due to an accident or specified infectious disease, coverage for emergency outpatient expenses to treat an injury due to accident, and ambulance expenses. The policy also provides USD 50,000 to each registered guest in the unfortunate event of accidental death or permanent disablement. Guests can contact AIG’s customer service team at +603-2772 5578 from Mondays to Fridays between 09:00hrs and 17:00 hrs if they require assistance during their staycation.
Local leisure guests who are booked to stay in any of the seven Shangri-La hotels in Malaysia from 22 September 2021 will automatically enjoy the StaySurance Personal Accident Cover at no additional charge.
