In a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage and community spirit, Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG) is set to host the much-anticipated Batik Fun Walk 2023 on Sunday, 22nd October 2023, at the picturesque Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) Lanai ~ Lanai @ MaTiC in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
The Batik Fun Walk, a leisure event organised by PENYAYANG in collaboration with strategic partners, including The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), and MCM CoMetro 5 Pillars Venture, aims to spotlight the rich tapestry of Malaysian culture embodied in batik and promote its use as daily attire.
A Journey Through Culture and Fitness
The event promises a day of cultural immersion and physical activity suitable for participants of all ages. Families and friends are encouraged to join in, making it an inclusive gathering.
The Batik Fun Walk itinerary is brimming with exciting activities:
- Fitness Challenges: Participants can engage in friendly fitness competitions, promoting health and well-being.

- Clowns: Amusing clowns will add an element of fun and laughter to the festivities.
- Quiz: A knowledge quiz will test participants’ familiarity with batik and Malaysian culture.

Exploring Kuala Lumpur’s Scenic Routes
The walk will commence and conclude at the Lanai, Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC). Participants will embark on a 3.8-kilometer journey, traversing iconic streets of Kuala Lumpur, including Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, Persiaran Petronas, before returning to the MaTiC venue.
Participation and Giving Back
Participation fees have been thoughtfully structured:
- RM 45 for adult participants, inclusive of a complimentary batik sarong.
- RM 20 for children aged 7 to 12 years old, without a complimentary batik sarong.
- Free admission for children under 7 years old, without a complimentary batik sarong and medal.
Completing the walk earns participants the cherished Batik Fun Walk 2023 medal.
Beyond the festivities, the event carries a significant charitable component. All participation fees collected will be channeled towards supporting cancer initiatives through Penyayang Pesakit Kanser (PPK). PPK is a dedicated support group that extends services and assistance to cancer patients at Putrajaya Hospital, the National Cancer Institute, and Seri Kembangan.
