The MAH Domestic Tourism Fair Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2024, held on 6th and 7th July 2024 at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre, was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of domestic tourism in Malaysia. This grand event, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), drew over 10,000 visitors and showcased a wealth of travel opportunities.
A Grand Showcase of Malaysian Hospitality
The exhibition, touted as the largest hotel fair of the year, featured more than 150 exhibitors, including premier hotels, luxury resorts, national and state tourism offices, airlines, and travel agencies. Visitors were treated to an array of exclusive deals and packages, offering a comprehensive view of Malaysia’s tourism landscape.
“This event was organized for the industry and the public, and the turnout exceeded our expectations. It underscores the growing interest in affordable domestic travel options,” remarked Dato’ Khoo Boo Lim, Vice President of MAH and Organizing Chairman of the fair.

Engaging Activities and Unmatched Deals
Throughout the two-day event, visitors enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, from pocket talks and live music performances to lucky draws and family-friendly entertainment. One of the main attractions was the huge discounts on 3 to 5-star hotels and the opportunity to claim RM50 cash vouchers, which added an extra layer of excitement.
“We wanted to create a platform where Malaysians could explore luxury vacations at affordable prices, and the response was overwhelmingly positive,” added Dato’ Khoo.
Impact on Domestic Tourism
Supported by Tourism Malaysia as part of the “Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia” initiative, the fair played a pivotal role in promoting domestic tourism. The collaboration highlighted the government’s commitment to boosting the local tourism economy and making travel more accessible for Malaysians.
“As living costs rise, many Malaysians are seeking budget-friendly getaways closer to home. Events like this are crucial in showcasing the diverse and affordable travel options available within our own borders,” said Dato’ Khoo.
