Royal Caribbean has marked a significant milestone in the development of its next Oasis Class vessel with a keel-laying ceremony at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The ceremony officially signals the start of construction for the cruise line’s seventh Oasis Class ship, which is scheduled to enter service in 2028. The milestone launches the next phase of development as the vessel moves from planning to physical assembly over the coming two years.

As part of the longstanding maritime tradition, representatives from Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l’Atlantique placed newly minted coins beneath the first steel block laid in the dry dock. The symbolic gesture is believed to bring good fortune to the ship, its crew and future guests throughout its operational journey.
Once completed, the yet-to-be-named vessel will join Royal Caribbean’s acclaimed Oasis Class fleet, known for its large-scale attractions, diverse dining concepts, entertainment offerings and family-friendly experiences.

Further details on the ship’s name, onboard features and deployment plans are expected to be announced at a later date.
